Walnut Cove Fire & Rescue recently upgraded lighting on our ’98 Freight-liner, also known as Engine 435. Engine 435 was originally fitted with Halogen lights, controlled by a load manager. Members noticed lights sometimes not properly working, or not working at all. Halogen lights are very demanding and our truck was covered roof to wheel with old lights. LED emergency lights had become available through First Out Equipment Services, who provided manpower during the process. Engine 435 was upgraded with the newest Feniex™ LED lights. Front, side and rear warning lights, as well as a new light bar were fitted to take the space of the old lights. New LED headlights were also added to the project to increase safety and visibility during night operations.
